We present the first systematic, spatially resolved X-ray spectroscopic study of a largely thermonuclear (Type Ia) sample of supernova remnants (SNRs), aimed at probing the explosion properties and progenitors through a comparison to a suite of nucleosynthesis models available in the literature.
