To capture the brightest and most rapidly evolving phases of solar flares, the Major Flare Solar Orbiter Observing Plan employed a dedicated short-exposure mode for the High Resolution Imager at 174 Angstrom (HRIEUV) of the Extreme Ultraviolet Imager.
