Interplanetary dust particles (IDPs) are present throughout the Solar System, with Earth experiencing a mass flux of roughly 100 tonnes of IDPs per day. These particles ablate in the upper atmosphere, delivering aerosols that form noctilucent and stratospheric clouds.
