We present the first independent search for an isotropic stochastic gravitational wave background in the second data release of the Indian Pulsar Timing Array, comprising of 27 millisecond pulsars monitored simultaneously in two frequency bands with the upgraded Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope over a maximum 7.2 year baseline.
