The Hard X-ray Imager (HXI) on board the Advanced Space-based Solar Observatory (ASO-S/Kuafu-1) reconstructs solar flare hard X-ray images from the modulated counts of 91 bi-grid sub-collimators---an underdetermined problem of recovering a high-dimensional spatial distribution from low-dimensional measurements.
