Abstract

FOSSIL (FTS fOr CMB Spectral diStortIon expLoration) is a proposed ESA M8 mission tailored to measure the spectral distortions of the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) with a sensitivity three orders of magnitude beyond the COBE/FIRAS legacy measurement.
