Characterisation of chaos in meteoroid streams. Application to the Taurids

Abstract

Aims. We explore the dynamics of the Northern and Southern Taurid meteoroid streams to identify major mechanisms structuring the evolution of the streams. Methods. We use chaos maps and numerical simulations to explore the dynamics of the streams. We also perform some semi-analytical analysis to confirm the mechanisms we identified in the maps. Results.
