Testing internal dynamics in neutron stars with radio pulsar timing

Rotational variations in pulsars reflect either internal angular momentum exchange via equal and opposite torques (stationary spin noise) or independent torques causing diffusive changes in total angular momentum (nonstationary spin noise).
