Arepo-CD: Coupling Collisional $N$-Body Dynamics with Moving-Mesh Magnetohydrodynamics

Abstract

Star formation is a hierarchical, clustered process in turbulent giant molecular clouds (GMCs), where close stellar encounters can strongly affect cluster evolution and feedback. However, gravitational softening in many hydrodynamic simulations of GMCs limits the treatment of these encounters.
